VAINAJA: ”VIIMEINEN TUOMIO” – a short film of arcane events in the 19th century rural Finland

Traditional lore tells of an evil cult inducing chaos among parishioners of old Finnish religions. This story was carefully transcribed into the songs of „Kadotetut”, the full-length concept album of Vainaja.
Recently very rare film footage was found which further adds evidence of the nefarious activities. It is not clear when this footage was shot, but evidence implicate it to date from 1920’s. Ghostly images of the main characters of the cult are present in these clips, summoned from the other side. Footage of a young girl was found, presumably indentified as one of the members of local church choir. Also a unindentified character is present of which there is no previous evidence available.

This footage was perfectly restored and then edited and presented as a short film to Wilhelm’s sermon ”Viimeinen Tuomio”.

This old, scary and dark short film is now displayed to you for the first time ever. It is a journey into dark events from the past.
